BIO Catalina Posada (Bogotá, Colombia, 1986) is a Colombian-French artist who works primarily in oil on canvas. Through movement, layering, the exploration of materiality, and the use of organic forms and color as compositional structures, she investigates how we construct identity and meaning amid the multiple expectations and demands of contemporary life. Since 2006, she has developed her artistic practice in the studios of several artists. Following a succesfull corporate career, she began examining how contemporary systems shaped by achievement, productivity, and external expectations can distance us from what is essential and what becomes possible when those connections are restored. Her series Magnolias: Communion with the Feminine was presented in a group exhibition in the United States and she is currently developing the series Vital Energy. Catalina lives and works between Bogota, Colombia, and Provence, France.
